Project Freight
Solar, energy storage, machinery deployments and retail rollouts — projects with multiple containers, multiple stops, and often oversize or overweight equipment. One project number threads every shipment, matched to the right equipment (flatbed, step deck, lowboy/RGN) and permits where the move continues over the road, with each shipment tracked, scheduled and documented independently and rolled up under a single project view.
How it works
Containers
One or many containers open under a single project.
Loads
Freight splits into individual loads — standard dry van, flatbed, step deck or lowboy/RGN for oversize equipment — each priced and tracked on its own.
Destinations & appointments
Each load routes to its own destination with its own delivery appointment.
POD, rolled up
Proof of delivery for every load rolls up under one project view.
What is included
One project. Many controlled shipments.
A project shipment should not become a folder of unrelated orders. ShipMay uses one project number to connect the work while keeping every shipment independently scheduled, tracked and documented.
- One project number
- Multiple containers or loads
- A separate destination and appointment for each shipment
- Independent status and documents for every move
- PODs rolled up into one project view
Equipment & Permits for Oversize Moves
When a project includes over-height, over-width, over-weight or heavy equipment, we match it to specialized trailers and coordinate the paperwork that comes with moving it over the road.
What counts as oversize / OOG?
Freight that exceeds standard dimensions or weight — over-height, over-width, over-weight loads, heavy machinery, or OOG/Open Top/Flat Rack containers that need to move by flatbed, step deck or lowboy once they leave the port.
Can I get an instant rate for an OOG shipment?
Not automatically. Equipment matching, permit requirements (they vary by state), escort needs and route height/width restrictions require review by our team per shipment before pricing.
Other ways to move freight
Drayage
Container pickup from port and rail ramps, performed by qualified drayage carriers and priced by pickup terminal — port fees passed through, fuel surcharge and chassis fees itemized.
Truckload
Dedicated trailers for full loads, solo or team drivers, with equipment matching, rate confirmations and door-to-door tracking on every load.
Transload
The step between container freight and domestic distribution — a container arrives, gets broken down, and the freight inside continues on LTL, truckload, intermodal or last-mile. Coordinated through the platform; performed by licensed warehouse and trucking partners.
